Kindred: The Family Soul : Album Cover Shoot
One afternoon, I received a text from Fatin, of Kindred, asking about my weekend schedule. They were set to be in DC for a performance, and wanted to setup a shoot. Needless to say, I was down.
I linked up with them first thing Saturday AM, ready to work. The make-up artist arrived, got Aja situated, and we went to work. The shoot was a lot of fun, and all I could think about was how exciting it would be for them to actually use the photos ANYWHERE on their new album cover – I didn’t even care how many pics, or their placement.
I immediately sent them the entire set from the shoot, and within days, they chose some favorites. It wasn’t until a recent show at 930 Club that I discovered that they used 3 photos throughout, when I was handed my copy of the album, a month before release. FTW!
The album “Love Has No Recession” (available on iTunes) released July 26th, with appearances by DC’s Chuck Brown and Raheem Devaughn. I wish them much success, and I hope to play a part in future projects. Soul music lives!
