Ibiza Nightclub : Washington, DC : 10 08 2011 :
Sneaker Pimps, a touring sneaker/hip-hop show, made its way to DC, and brought rap music’s Legendary Bun B of UGK, as well as Maybach Music Group’s new artist Stalley.
There were opening performances by up and coming artist Rocky Diamonds, and local artists Authentik, Kingpen Slim, Da Phuture, Uptown XO, and Sm City. Not to show any type of favor, but one of the highlights for me was when Kingpen Slim performed “21 Gun Salute” along with co-star Edley Shine. I love that song! As I was typing this, I literally just scrolled to it on my iPhone.
There was a dope live art piece created by Charles JP.
Throughout the event, the soundtrack was provided by Dj Heat, and at a point, Dj Lil Mic arrived for a special portion of the show. The battle. No, not a Dj battle, but a Dj versus a drummer. I had never seen or gheard it before, but it was pretty interesting. Eric The Drummer of UCB got my vote!
