Red Bull EmSee Battle : 10 24 2011

The Fillmore Silver Spring : Silver Spring, MD : 10 24 2011 :

The Red Bull EmSee Battle wasn’t the typical rap battle. It was very structured, and the contestants had to rap about random topics and images that showed up on a screen, had to use certain words to earn points, and still spit some dope rhymes. Bun B hosted with Joe Budden, Devin the Dude, and Big Krit as judges.

The guy pictured with the digital countdown…uhhh, he won. Yup – and, he was dope.

I don’t know much of Budden’s music, so I couldn’t appreciate it, but it was cool to see Devin on stage for the first time.

My favorite part of the night was Big Krit’s performance. Dude has crazy energy! When he hops off of the stage and starts partying with the crowd to “Country Sh*t”, they go crazy! Funny thing is, when the song ended, and it was time to get back on stage, he almost needed a boost. He said, “Damn, man this stage is high as hell. I aint realize that when I jumped off!”.
